Potentially life-saving technology that allows drivers to see around corners has been unveiled in a bid to cut the number of accidents on city streets. Front Split View Camera – which has been released by Ford specifically with city drivers in mind – enables motorists to avoid collisions with other cars and cyclists by displaying a 180-degree view from the front of their vehicle. Eight cyclists have been killed on London’s roads so far this year, and the Department of Transport reports that a restricted view contributed to 11 per cent of all road accidents in 2013.
